On 1st November 2019 we loaded our second container with 125 bikes. These are off to Gai, in remote North Eastern Kenya, where we sent out first bikes last year. This is the culmination of 10 months work by Prodigal Bike volunteers, staff and trustees to collect and prepare all these bikes, spares and tools. We have had a great deal of support from many members of the public, donating all the bikes and contributing towards shipping. We would especially like to thank Helen Bennett, Simon Britton, Calum McFarlane, The Allan and Nesta Ferguson Trust and the Souter Trust for help with getting the shipping fees together. We would also like to thank our workshop volunteers; Ashley Banks, Jack Rogers, Steve, Nathan Kirkby, Preston, Riley, Jamie Bruce, Abbie and Lou.
We expect the container to arrive in Mombasa on 16th December, and to deliver the bikes to the schools just after Christmas. More photos to follow.
